Al Sotack and Maks Pazuniak are planning to open their cocktail lounge in a desolate stretch of Bushwick by September.
Master barmen Al Sotack and Maks Pazuniak are teaming up to open a cocktail bar on a particularly industrial block of Bushwick this coming summer. Sotack, who has worked at Death + Co. and Pouring Ribbons, and Pazuniak, who's a vet of New Orleans's acclaimed Cure, are still in the planning stages, according to Bedford + Bowery. Sotack says he doesn't want the bar to feel like every other super precious speakeasy. "It will be a little bit more of a lounge aesthetic with sound design and good music...overall you won't find any other bars like this...really. It will be a bar that's very specific to the place and time." Expect a September opening at 1237 Flushing Avenue.
